Hardness of Water – Water hardness is cause by calcium, magnesium and lime carbonates.  Do you find those unsightly water spots on your fixtures, dishes, glassware, and utensils? The hardness creates soap curd and scum that interferes with the cleaning ability of your appliances. Plus, scaling builds up with hard water, and that can clog pipes and fixtures, which can cause premature failure and huge plumbing bills.

Iron – North Florida has high concentration of Iron bacteria, also known as iron algae.  High concentrations of iron in your water may cause an objectionable taste in your water and rust-colored staining of sinks, toilets, bathtubs, other plumbing fixtures, and clothes.

pH – Low or high pH water may cause damage to your sinks, faucets, hot water tanks, drainage, and supply lines thereby reducing the amount of time your fixtures will work.  St. Johns Quality Water tests to insure that the pH in your water, after it leaves our system, is balanced perfectly for your home.

Chlorine/Chloramines –  Municipal water supplies use Chlorine and or Chloramines to disinfect our water.  This water needs to be treated differently in order to remove these hazards form your water.  Disenfects are found to be objectionable in drinking and bathing water. Chlorine that mixes with organics in water forms trihalomethanes (THMs), which are reported to contribute to cancer.

Sulfur – Sulfur – the gas H2S – is causes by an off-gassing of bacteria.  This can cause damage to plumbing and gives off an offensive, “rotten egg” odor.
